IGS CNG Services Partners with Montgomery County to Open CNG Fueling Station in Moraine, Ohio

Trucks powered by Compressed Natural Gas

DUBLIN, Ohio--IGS CNG Services recently announced its plans to operate and maintain a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station in Moraine, just outside of Dayton. It will be located at the Montgomery County Environmental Services facility at 2750 Cardington Road in Moraine, and will be accessible by both fleets and the public.

Operations are set to begin this summer on the station, which will have three lanes, six pumps, and its own canopy. The station is designed to serve refuse trucks from Montgomery County and surrounding Ohio municipalities as well as a growing number of regional fleets being converted to natural gas vehicles (NGVs).

“Montgomery County is committed to promoting greener business practices and creating a sustainable future for our businesses and citizens,” said Montgomery County Commission President Judy Dodge. “With the opening of this CNG station, we will be able to fuel our fleet with more affordable, cleaner energy, and allow local businesses to do the same.”

The Montgomery County Environmental Services Department enlisted IGS CNG Services because of the company’s experience working with other county and city municipalities, as well as building, owning, and operating CNG stations.

“We’re glad to partner with the Montgomery County Environmental Services Department and offer this convenient, domestic fueling option to those traveling the I-75 corridor,” said Mike Gatt, vice president of IGS CNG Services. “This location is convenient for many in the area, and allows drivers to refuel in about the same amount of time as it would take at a conventional gasoline station,” Gatt added.

IGS CNG Services plans to continue developing a regional CNG fueling corridor and will expand their fueling network along I-75 – throughout Ohio into Cincinnati and Kentucky to the south, and into Toledo and Michigan to the north.

The Moraine location is the 12th in the IGS CNG Services family of stations that service the public. Of the 12 stations, IGS CNG Services has seven active stations in Ohio, three in West Virginia, and one in Indiana. The Ohio CNG stations are located in Dayton, Dublin (owned by the City of Dublin), Findlay, Marengo, Obetz, Orrville, and Girard. The West Virginia CNG stations are located in Charleston, Bridgeport, and Jane Lew. The Indiana station is located in South Bend.
