When it comes to IGS Energy, what you see is what you get.

At IGS Energy, we offer a wide variety of fixed rate contract options for a wide variety of utilities. These fixed rate contracts allow you to lock in a rate to avoid the risk of unexpected price increases. While a fixed rate product doesn’t guarantee that we’ll save you money, we can guarantee that your price will remain unchanged for the defined term of agreement

We care about transparency.

Customer experience is everything in our world. Unlike the utility, we need to earn your business and your confidence. And we want to make sure you know what you’re getting up front. While some competitors may reserve the right to pass on additional costs, we’ll give you all the information you need to make a solid financial decision for your family and your budget.

When you’re shopping around, what should you be mindful of?

Remember that suppliers are not the same as the utility company. In competitive energy markets, you have the ability as a consumer to select an energy supplier. Energy suppliers, like IGS Energy, supply the energy you purchase to your local utility, who delivers that energy to your home or business. Our service is still billed through your local utility, and the utility-owned lines, pipes, and poles are still serviced by the utility company. Competitive suppliers who create the misimpression that they are part of your utility company should raise a red flag.

Fixed rates may not always be cheaper than the variable rate the utility is offering. Fixed rates can’t guarantee that you’ll save money on your utility bill. But fixed rates can give you peace of mind when you’re mapping out your monthly budget. With a fixed rate, you know the unit rate you’ll be paying for your energy supply each month and can adjust your usage accordingly. Will there be times throughout the year that a variable rate may be cheaper? Perhaps. But are there times throughout the year where variable rates will be higher? Also a possibility. If a company guarantees that a fixed rate will be able to save you money, dig a little deeper.

Contract fine print and hidden fees could put you in a financially dangerous situation. We’re all told to read the fine print, but let’s be honest, who has the time? In this case, it’s important that you review the conditions on your contract. Some companies may promise that you’re going to save money. Some may offer a “rebate” after you’ve been with them for a year. But if it sounds too good to be true, you should certainly ask more questions. Read the agreement carefully to understand if there are additional charges, fees, or situations that are not included in the price offered. wisiwig_blog-body_110216_2
