This project is designed to protect up to 200,000 hectares of tropical rainforest. Through a variety of efforts, ~12.8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions will be avoided over the first 10 years.

This 8219.7-acre area has been earmarked for a carbon emissions reduction effort, along with conserving the land through a permanent federal conservation easement.

Lee County Waste to Energy

FORT MEYERS, FLORIDA

By installing a 636-ton combustion unit at the Lee County Waste to Energy Facility, methane emissions created by the burning of municipal waste are captured and used to create steam for the purpose of electricity generation.

Hillborough County Waste to Energy (wtE) Facility 2009 Capital Expansion

TAMPA, FLORIDA

A new 600-ton-per-day combustion unit is being installed at the Hillsborough County Resource Recovery Facility to recover heat from the combustion of municipal solid waste. This will be used to generate electricity to some county facilities and an area electric cooperative.

Dempsey Ridge Wind Project

OKLAHOMA

This 132MW wind power project involves installation of 60, 2MW wind turbines on 7,500 acres of land used for agriculture and grazing. The goal of the project is to reduce the use of traditional grid power, by feeding electricity generated from a renewable resource to the Southwest Power Pool Regional Transmission Organization.
