What started as a single truck operation in 1999, is now a 75-truck fleet serving thousands of Central Ohio customers. In 2014, Local Waste Services (LWS) began investing in a more environmentally-friendly future by purchasing a compressed natural gas (CNG) truck to join its fleet. A couple of years later, as the company's CNG fleet continued to grow, IGS CNG Services built a public CNG fueling station less than three miles from LWS at a local gas station. The two companies came together as fueling partners at this new, retail CNG fueling station. LWS continued purchasing numerous CNG refuse trucks, but remote fueling at the local CNG station became increasingly more challenging and inefficient for the large fleet.
In 2018, LWS partnered with IGS CNG Services to design, build, own, and operate a state-of-the-art, time-fill CNG station on their property to support their fleet. The new time-fill station is designed to support the refuse company’s projected substantial growth in the years to come.
